Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) is looking for business instructors/faculty, doctoral students, MBA graduates, and business consultants/writers for occasional project work on our Brief Cases product line, described in full at https://cb.hbsp.harvard.edu/cbmp/pages/content/briefcases.
For the Brief Cases program, the writers will develop, write, and edit case studies of approximately 4,000 words (7-8 pages text) in length, plus 2-4 exhibits, along with teaching notes for instructors and Excel spreadsheet solutions as necessary. The ideal candidate has 5+ years MBA-level case teaching or case writing experience and several peer-reviewed articles. We are interested in experts in both qualitative and quantitative business disciplines / topics.
Each writer will work under the guidance of a Harvard faculty expert and will be expected to submit and revise several drafts to address the comments of HBP editors and faculty reviewers. Writers will not need to conduct field interviews at companies, but will be expected to do some library and/or web database research.
We will compensate writers a flat project fee for each published text/case study and teaching note package. Writers will also receive co-authorship credit. Writers can work remotely, via email, on a flexible project basis, but those based in New England, with availability to come to Boston for occasional meetings, may receive preference.
Interested writers should submit a resume/CV, writing sample, and indicate disciplines/topics of potential interest for case writing. We will contact writers of interest to us and ask them to write a brief case outline on a story topic that we assign.
