Short Job summary: The Marks Project is seeking a Freelance Grant Writer who can research prospective funders and write grant proposals in support of the organization's ongoing recording of American studio ceramic artists and potters. The Grant Writer can work from home. Payment: to be discussed.

Job Description:

The Marks Project is a not-for-profit online research hub and dictionary of American studio ceramics (1946 – Present). The Grant Writer, reporting to the Executive Director, will identify and write grant proposals for a young non-profit to support continued research and documentation of American studio ceramic artists and potters on an established website.

Knowledge of art funding organizations and family foundations supporting the arts a plus. This position can be done remotely and does not require travel.

Ideal entry level position for motivated candidate on development track. The candidate is ideally a college graduate in art history or business with proven grant identification experience, writing skills, and strong references. They should have a clear, comfortable, but professional writing style and an interest in the decorative arts and/or contemporary ceramics. Proficiency in MS Office is a must.
