The Christian Post (www.christianpost.com) is looking for an experienced freelance copy editor to assist its editorial department in copyediting lifestyle and op-ed articles in the AP style. As the articles are written from a Christian perspective – and primarily a conservative evangelical perspective – it is a requirement of the job that the copy editor is a practicing Christian.
Applicants should be very familiar with Christian and conservative evangelical perspectives on theology, and social and political affairs. Applicants must be able to demonstrate at least two years of copyediting experience, preferably within a Christian field, and all applicants will be asked to take a copyediting test.
As an online publication, applicants should be knowledgeable in editing headlines to make them SEO and social media-friendly. The amount of hours each week will vary so applicants should only apply if they are able to be flexible.
