Teaching Theatre, a quarterly educational journal published by the Educational Theatre Association, is looking for experienced magazine writers who know how to tell a good story, conduct research and interviews, and write engaging copy for an adult readership. Articles range from 800-word profiles to 3,000-word features.
Experience in theater arts or education is appreciated, but not required; we’re mainly looking for writers who can produce polished articles, meet deadlines, and take editorial direction. We accept pitches, but our editors also assign several stories a month on various topics (e.g., teacher burnout, education standards, how to increase diversity within theater productions, etc.).
