ScreenPrism is seeking a highly motivated, smart, talented and organized freelance Writer/Editor with an accessible voice and compelling understanding of film & TV criticism and discussion.
This is a fantastic role for a creative and analytical mind interested in creating accessible film & TV analysis for a broad audience. The ideal candidate must have strong creative and analytical writing abilities and organizational skills. The individual also must understand the company mission to help audiences enrich their understanding and appreciation of what they’re watching whether it be popular and/or classic entertainment content.
We’re seeking a collaborative, self-initiating team player with at least 1-2 years of related editorial experience with a BA or equivalent degree. Must have an impressive knowledge of and passion for wide range of cinema & TV.
- Write video essays and articles using a direct, accessible voice to translate academic, high-brow ideas and knowledge into engaging, easy-to-process language.
- Oversee other writers and shape their submissions into compelling scripts. This includes giving other writers feedback and instruction, while also being able to work quickly to rework and rewrite in order to find and articulate the ideas within the script.
- Work professionally with other writers, including other remote freelancers and interns
