POP (a creative agency) Needs a Freelance Blogger/Journalist for a Tech Client
Short Job summary: POP, a modern creative agency, needs a Freelance Blogger/Journalist to write a number of blog posts for a client in the IT/network security industry. The freelancer will be writing for thought-leaders in the field and educating them about the progressing world of application security. Each post will be around 500 words and use interviews, facts, and quotes to support the main topic. Compensation: to be determined.

Job Description:

POP seeks a freelance Journalist to assist on a project for one of our global technology clients to create a series of blog posts. The posts will be targeted toward decision makers in the IT space who are concerned about network and application security. The purpose of the blog series is to educate ITDMs about the rapidly evolving world of security, including the trend toward “social engineering” where everyone from individual hackers to state-sponsored organizations “trick” individuals into providing personally identifiable information as a way to hack into corporate networks.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with a Managing Editor or Creative Director to develop story ideas for a blog series
  • Interview subject matter experts, as necessary, to develop authentic stories that use facts, quotes, and data to educate our audience
  • Write up to four blog posts per week (approx. length 500 words) and incorporate client and internal feedback into story revisions
  • Optimize stories after publication at the direction of our Managing Editor or Creative Director to ensure ever-increasing story performance (reads, shares, likes, etc.)
