Phyter is seeking a freelance writer who is a natural-born, creative and compelling storyteller, has a stylistic way with words, and penchant for food, healthy living and all things lifestyle. We’re looking for someone experienced in a broad variety of marketing, journalism, public relations and other types of writing and editing assignments that spur consumer interest and action. You will be working with a dynamic, fast-paced team that includes the principals, branding and creative team. You will be the voice of our brand to transition the brand using the guiding principles and messaging brief that is currently in the last stages of development.
The initial role will be to help put into words the core (main branch) and ancillary (side branches) marketing messages and weave the two together while defining the messaging hierarchy.
The selected candidate will help write out the story of the brand and put into words the static elements such as the Packaging and Collateral Copy, Tag lines, Merchandising, and other Collateral. More importantly the dynamic storytelling strategy of the brand will have to be created. This will include, but is not limited to, the community building engaging stories and discussions that will keep the brand fresh and target consumers engaged on an ongoing basis. You will be expected to design, build, build and develop stories that resonate to influence loyalty and affinity for the brand and its products. This will be a continuous evolution wherein you tailor messages, narratives, stories and content for the target consumer that will have to be refreshed continuously to create a community and help drive sales.
You will further help produce a clear, consistent voice for communication initiatives which will include our blog and social messaging through digital media, website, PR and marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will be a quick study and able to see the salient and distinctive message points to convey in any written assignment. In addition to creating new content, this position must possess the ability to coordinate and develop visual storytelling and narratives for the same.
Prior experience with direct consumer marketing and ability to connect with a younger audience will be must. Prior experience with creative narrative and visual Storytelling in addition to having worked with exciting entrepreneurial lifestyle consumer brands (national preferred) is also required.
