The Grant Writer will work to translate Khan Foundation’s community impact into financial viability in order to ensure the maintenance and success of the Foundation’s programs. Therefore the position will require the candidate to persuasively communicate the Foundation’s mission to a range of potential funders. The Grant Writer will do this by creating a plan for establishing key external alliances with institutional and individual donors. By strategically targeting key stakeholders, the grant writer will work to increase the Foundation’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, critical thinker with measurable results who is able to create a sense of urgency among potential partners and investors to fully maximize and leverage all funding opportunities.
The Grant Writer will assemble, write and submit grant proposals, maintain communication with foundation contacts for application and reporting purposes, conduct prospect research and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines. The job of Grant Writer was established for the purposes of coordinating and overseeing the grant application and management process including the identification of potential new funding sources.
Consultant rate is $20-$27/hour based on experience. This is position is freelance but requires 15-20 hours weekly. Location flexible with bi-weekly meetings in person.
