Short Job summary: General Assembly, a tech education company, is hiring a Freelance Copywriter to write engaging headlines and concise descriptions of forthcoming events for local market email newsletters sent weekly. This is a remote position.

Job Description:

General Assembly, a pioneering tech education company with campuses in 20 locations across the world, is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented copywriter to join our Marketing team. The ideal candidate will be able to turn around snappy, engaging copy in a fast-paced environment, fitting big messages into small spaces. This is a part-time contract position, and can be completed remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write compelling headlines and short descriptions of upcoming events for weekly local market email newsletters, based on content from existing event web pages.
  • Ensure copy is engaging, grammatically correct, and showcases the thought leadership, professional growth, and community-building opportunities these events encapsulate.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Content teams to edit copy as needed.

Time 
Must be available and online with GA’s team during work hours (10 a.m.–6 p.m. Eastern) Tuesdays and can work remotely. NYC-based writers can also spend the day working from the GA office in the Flatiron District.

Rate: $200 for 8 newsletters
