We are a monthly, high end magazine publication that highlights Texas culture, homes, and lifestyles. We strive to celebrate Texas and all the different reasons that it is such a great place to live. From the major metropolitan cities to the quaint small towns, Texas offers a beautiful landscape that we want to share with our readers across the state.
We are currently looking for writers to cover the different genres that encompass the entirety of Texas. Topics we feature include: history, arts & culture, travel, food, and Texas home design. These articles need to be written from less obvious angles and avoid the stereotypical textbook topics. (The Alamo, Sam Houston, Six flags, etc.)
Our Office is located in the Bryan/College Station area, but we work with writers all over the state, and even a few out of state, so feel free to apply even if you aren’t in the area!
The ideal candidate understands and meets regular deadlines and is able to pitch article ideas to their editor. Many times photos will need to be tracked down and submitted along with the story.
Payment is made on a PER ARTICLE basis, not per word. Pay will increase based on experience (both in general and experience writing for TexasLiving). Generally articles run between 500-1200 words depending on the subject matter. Monthly feature articles will generally be about twice as long and warrant a higher rate of pay.
