Freelance Writers Needed to Develop Location-Based Profiles for U.S. News and World Report
Short Job summary: Freelance writers are needed to develop content for the Best Places to Live, a rankings product published by U.S. News & World Report. Hired writers will produce extensive profiles to the metro areas in which they reside, helping people decide which area is best suited for them. Each content profile will also include photos and video of the metro area. Payment is $250/profile.

Job Description:

Freelance Writers with photography skills are needed to help develop a new “recommendations and rankings” product called the Best Places to Live, published by U.S. News & World Report (est. 1933). The media company has been publishing valuable “Rankings and Advice” products for consumers since 1983.

Writers will develop in-depth profiles about the local area in which they reside, sharing their own insights and personal advice to help non-locals decide if the area–whether it’s a city, community, or neighborhood–is the ideal place to move to based on their needs. Photos and video footage, provided by the writers, will also accommodate each written profile.

Job Requirements:

  • Impeccable writing and editing skills
  • Well-versed in Associated Press style
  • Capable photography skills–you do not have to be a “professional” photographer or videographer
  • Meet all deadlines
  • Reliable time-management skills

Freelance writers work remotely and are paid per submission.

Payment is $250 per approved profile.
