A local real estate/media brand is looking for experienced freelancers to write about real estate and everyday life in New York City for our blog. Topics may include the search for a home, unusual living arrangements, problems with renting and owning a home, and how New Yorkers thrive and struggle in the city. We have stories we’d like to assign, and it’d be great if you have ideas, too.
This is not an entry-level gig — professional experience in blogging and/or journalism is required. You must be able to produce clean, compelling, well-researched copy on deadline. You should have a fun, breezy voice and know how to get to the point without being dull or self-indulgent. You must also know when to pick up the phone or send an email to check a fact or snag an interview.
In return for your reporting and writing, we’ll pay competitive rates on a timely schedule. We’re hoping to find a handful of strong, reliable freelancers who will take assignments as needed and occasionally pitch great ideas.
