We Are The Mighty (WATM) is the military’s media and lifestyle brand. WATM celebrates service with stories that empower and inspire. We produce authentic military-themed content, branded entertainment, advertising, live events, strategic communications and marketing.
The right candidate will have a deep technical knowledge of the military (and, yes, we include the Coast Guard here) and have some knowledge of foreign services as well.
Let’s just say a good candidate should know the difference between an M2 Bradley and an “Ma Deuce” and be able spot the U.S. Marine in a crowd of British Royal Marines.
Aside from a firm grasp of the military, a contributing writer will need to quickly pick up on WATM’s unique voice — one that is skeptical of authority, sees the lighter side of serving and knows how to crack a joke. Think of us as “Buzzfeed in Camo.”
Contributing writers need to have some knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress, be able to manipulate photos in common multimedia editing software, and they need to swim in a social media sea of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.
