Job Description:

First We Feast (est. 2012), an award-winning food and pop culture website owned by Complex Media Inc., is looking for a Freelance Blogger/News Editor to report on news and trends in the food and beverage space through a pop culture perspective.

This gig is perfect for a writer who is well-versed in culinary subjects (cuisiniers, restaurants, cooking, beverages, etc.) and who also has a broad view on how food fits into our pop-culture society. Through powerful, visual prose and a strong, authoritative voice, the writer will explore the culture of eating and drinking in all of its elements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write expert-level content from diverse perspectives for a food-and-pop-culture audience
  • Communicate with news editors about daily stories
  • Report on emerging trends and breaking news related to food, drink, and pop culture
  • Develop content in an assortment of formats, from investigative stories to listicles to Tweets

Freelancers will work remotely on a part-time schedule and dedicate 3-4 hours during the workday to blogging. Compensation: submit your salary requirements.
