Are you working on a piece examining what happens to the identity of an industrial town when the factory closes, or, even better yet, what the factory is becoming? Writing an essay based on interviews with “Flat Earthers” or UFO abductees in order to understand how communities form around secret knowledge and conspiracies? Have an interesting take on a burgeoning movement or cultural trend? Or perhaps you are just working on a local story that has widespread cultural and social implications?
In any case, good news! The Culture Crush is a new digital and print publication dedicated to independent thinking on society and culture and we are looking for freelance authors for both our digital and print publications. Our pay rate varies based on length of article and subject matter, however we ask that no piece exceed 3500 words. So if you are working on an article, photo essay, short film, or even political cartoon that looks at culture and our society through a unique, interesting, and empathetic yet critical lens we would love to work with you.
If interested, please send a brief pitch (3-4 sentences) of an article you’d like to work on, or have written, a writing sample, and a brief bio.
