The Freelance Proofreader will be responsible for the proofing and quality assurance of all design and copy materials for client and for internal purposes. This person will create consistency for a growing interactive advertising agency (Top 50 Adweek; Top 25 Advertising Age).
The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of agency experience—editing specifically to online audiences, and preferably for big and wonderful brands. Must be able to manage large amounts of content and quick turnaround times.
You should have a strong editing background (duh), and be comfortable working with all the relevant programs, copydecks, long dashes, etc. You should know what these are, and the right way to use them. You should also able to decipher a creative brief, play nicely with designers and writers—and have an instinctive urge to filter through long blocks of content.
You should be angry at us for not using bullets up there, for instance.
What you will do:
- Review copy and correct spelling mistakes and grammatical errors
- Work closely with creative team to eliminate style and text inconsistencies
- Work closely with creative team to ensure projects are completed within budget and on-schedule
- Implement effective design layout, formatting, and typeset
