Local Freelance Writers Needed to Write for DIG Magazine

Job Description:

614 Media Group is looking for Freelance Writers (who are also excellent storytellers) to write locally-focused articles and narratives for DIG Magazine (est. 1997), a monthly publication highlighting the people, places and lifestyle that brand Baton Rouge as an exciting city for the 18-44 market.

Freelance writers will be covering: Arts & Entertainment, Food & Drink, City Life, and Campus & Sports, etc.

Formerly a weekly newspaper originating on LSU’s campus, DIG relaunched in June 2016 as a glossy, print-bound, monthly magazine. The magazine is distributed regionally and free to the community.

Expected Skills and Experience:

  • Write engaging, personable, and insightful articles that grab the interest of readers with a fusion of style and purpose, especially for college students and young career-goers.
  • Familiarity with to Associate Press style.
  • Knowledge of Baton Rouge culture.
  • Complete weekly or monthly assignments on deadline.

Compensation: $20-$100 per story, based on length and topic.
