Local Freelance Writers Needed to Write for BayArea.com

Job summary: Local freelance writers are invited to write articles for BayArea.com, a lifestyle and entertainment website for millennials who live in the East Bay and South Bay areas. The editors welcome writers to cover local events, outdoor activities, places to eat, things to do, etc. Payment is $50-$150/article.

Job Description

Launched in January 2016, BayArea.com aims to reach young readers through engaging and exciting content. Under the umbrella of the Bay Area News Group (which publishes the Mercury News and East Bay Times), BayArea.com seeks to relate to a millennial audience, and we’re looking for young writers to help us reach that goal.

Our audience is comprised of young adults ages 18-34, mostly single or married without children. That means our audience is interested in new and exciting places to eat and drink, deals (we all know how expensive the Bay Area is and we want to help our readers thrive here), and fun things to do. We cover popular topics of food, drink, travel, entertainment, outdoor activities, and lifestyle in the Bay Area and beyond. Our primary focus is the East Bay and South Bay, with occasional pieces covering San Francisco.

We pride ourselves on highlighting the individual voices of each freelancer. BayArea.com is all about YOU — we want your humor, interests, opinion, and sass to shine through in your individual articles.
