Freelance Work Freelance Technology Writers Needed to Write for GitLab.com’s Community Blog
GitLab Inc. (est. 2011) is inviting tech-savvy freelance writers to contribute smart, in-depth tutorial-style articles for its community blog at https://about.gitlab.com/blog/
GitLab is an open-source code platform (used by 100,000+ organizations globally) that lets web developers program and oversee code bases collaboratively.
GitLab needs community writers who can:
- Solve difficult problems
- Explain–in plain English–complex ideas
- Share their expertise in a specific area or on a specific topic
All posts at GitLab’s blog start as an “issue” about developing, collaborating, and deploying with Git and GitLab. Writers can pick an “issue” that interests them and then write a tutorial to help the community overcome any problems related to that issue.
Writers can peruse GitLab’s community blog to familiarize themselves with content, topics, editorial style, and complexity.
Word length: 750+ words for tutorials or opinion pieces; 500-750 words for short tutorials.
Payment: $200 per tutorial; $100 per short tutorial.
Writers need some former experience in writing tutorials or technical overviews, as well as expertise in the subject they elect to write about.
